Newcastle United and Arsenal are vying for the signature of Le Mans midfielder Stephane Sessegnon, according to reports
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already contacted the French club regarding the player’s availability, as he seeks to replace the seemingly Milan-bound Mathieu Flamini.
And Le Mans have claimed that Newcastle are also interested in the 23-year-old, following his impressive displays for Benin in the African Cup of Nations earlier in the year.
Sessegnon, who is rated at ₤4 million, has earned a reputation in Ligue 1 as an all-action defensive midfielder who likes to get forward and score goals, having scored an impressive brace against Lyon last season.
