Adebayor eyes Gunners trophy haul

Emmanuel Adebayor has made it abundantly clear that he expects to be at Arsenal next season, insisting he plans to score 40 goals and help The Gunners end their wait for silverware.

Arsenal have not won a major trophy since 2005, and a cloud has begun to hover over Emirates Stadium as first team stars Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb plot their futures away from North London.

Adebayor, who equalled Fernando Torres as second top scorer in The Premier League last season, emerged as a major target of Milan, the same club that lured Flamini.

However, Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani revealed on Sunday that he has opened talks with Didier Drogba after missing out on Adebayor, and the Togolese forward insists he is desperate to win trophies at Arsenal.

"I scored 30 goals last season and I can get 40 next time," he told the Daily Star. "I am happy and I love scoring.

"We want to do well after last time. We will do everything to win things next season. In our heads we want to win."
