Hill-Wood open to Kroenke position

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood is open to the idea of Stan Kroenke joining the board at Emirates Stadium.

Hill-Wood originally met the American’s investment in April 2007 with hostility – Kroenke bought a 10 percent share in The Gunners – as he was wary about reports the American businessman was planning a full takeover.

Kroenke has since upped his stake in the North Londoners to 12 percent, but Hill-Wood’s hostility has eased as he has now been convinced the owner of the Colorado Rapids MLS franchise does not have ulterior motives.

Hill-Wood would also not be averse to seeing Kroenke take up a position in the Arsenal boardroom.

"I think he could make a contribution - whether he would want to do it, I don't know," he told the Daily Star.

"I think he would be a good addition. He seems to have been very sensible.

"I think he would be quite happy to buy more shares but I think he has absolutely no intention of buying the whole thing."
