Gallas makes Gunners plea

Arsenal skipper William Gallas has pleaded with his team-mates to stay at Emirates Stadium.

The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Alexander Hleb and Mathieu Flamini have all been linked with moves away from North London after another season without silverware.

Gallas is keen to see the squad stick together after pushing for the title this season and is confident they can improve next season.

"For next season we want all the players to stay here," Gallas told The Sun.

"It would be good if we can keep this group together because we know each other very well and we know what we can do.

"We came very close to winning something this year, but you get nothing for being close.

"We want to get second place and to finish the season strongly, by winning every game."

Gallas has been criticised as Arsenal's bid for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League has fallen by the wayside in recent weeks, but the Frenchman says no individual is to blame for Arsenal's failure

"In the last few months we've not defended well as a team. It's not about individuals," concluded Gallas.
