Wenger calls for all or bust

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned his players that their hopes of lifting the Premier League title will be dealt a fatal blow if they lose to Liverpool on Saturday.

The third-placed Gunners welcome the Reds to Emirates Stadium on Saturday lunchtime, in a match which can be seen live on Sky Sports 1, hoping to close the six-point gap on table-topping Manchester United.

"We have to win all our games to win the title," said Wenger - who also takes his side to Anfield for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

"Five wins and a draw is a minimum but that means we would have to win at Old Trafford.

"For us it is important to win (against Liverpool) because of the situation in the championship. It would have a double impact - one for the championship and one for the Champions League.

"But my worry at the moment is the championship. Some people say it is over but everybody has a different opinion in football. In this case, I have a different one.

"Manchester United play four times away from home, and one of the two times they will play at home, they will play against us.

"It depends on how the games go and how much effort the teams put in - but no win is guaranteed in the Premier League.

"I believe we can still win the title but I believe this is special circumstances. Why? Manchester United are an excellent team but they can still lose points and they have hard games against us and Chelsea.

"I would love to put some more pressure on Manchester United. I feel it is very important to win our game first and therefore we need to be at our best.

"Everything is still possible, of course - but the main thing for us is to win our games."
