Gunners trial for Greek teen

Arsenal are poised to hand a trial to one of the most promising forwards in Greece.

Ergotelis’ 16-year-old striker Nikos Karelis has reportedly impressed Arsenal scouts as he has been invited to London to take part in a trial and a mini-tournament.

Karelis became the youngest player to play in a Greek Super League game when facing Zanthi at the weekend and he is determined to show his quality to The Gunners.

”I know that it will be very difficult to start with but I am going there to succeed,” Karelis told Sports 24.

”Even if I don’t make it, I think I’ll gain lots of useful experience that will help me improve in the future.”
